The battle rages on between the technologies of the Apple iPhone and Google’s Android platform. Google’s first android competitor to the Apple iPhone was the T-Mobile G1, which was released last year. The newest Android platform phone encompassed in the HTC Magic is HTC in partnership with Vodafone. With the hype coming from the release of this newest of Google Android platform applications, it should not be long before it is offered worldwide and posing even stiffer competition for the Apple iPhone.

Both the Apple iPhone and the Google HTC Magic are basically hand-held computers, and both can take applications from third party providers and download them. In focusing on the HTC Magic, it offers up the Google characteristics of email, maps, search, and YouTube, as well as a web-kit browser that is optimized by Android. All of this is offered under the Google umbrella. This advanced Google Android platform technology is opening doors to some major advancement for the development of other, more advanced applications.

Although many see Google’s endeavors into the smart phone market as a means for Google to further expand into totally dominating the industry, Google sees it as offering the public what they want. What Google feels the public wants is a simple means for quick access to the web through a device that individuals already always carry with them, which is the phone.

Other features of the handset of the HTC Magic that carries the Android platform include the handsets being dressed for success with a 3.2 inch touch screen display, buttons for navigating, and a trackball. The applications available with the Android platform are setting Google apart in the smart phone and PDA markets.

Those individuals that are social butterflies will the Android platform of the HTC Magic phone, due to the fact that Google constantly is running in the background for quick and easy access to others and quick relaying of information if desired. The Android platform is currently available on the T-Mobile G1, which was the start of it, while Vodafone has picked up the newest HTC Magic name. Upcoming gPhones are bringing the Android platform on board, and an abundance of carriers are supporting the endeavor.

Although the HTC Magic Vodafone first began making the Google Android platform available in their phones starting in the UK, and will move on to areas of Europe, it is uncertain which phone manufacturer and mobile service carrier will be the first to take up this stage of the Google Android revolution. Whichever and whomever it is, they will be a step ahead of the competition when offering the innovative technology provided through the Google Android platform.

The battle between the iPhone and the gPhone is bound to continue for years, but Apple may have a lot to worry about when it comes to Google and their advancing technologies within the Android platform. An ever increasing number of service providers want the phones that are backed by the Google Android Platform. If it is true that Google is offering what the people want, then the smartest service providers will get on board with Google Android.

The platform of the Android also allows for contribution by present and future software developers.

Since its release at the end of 2008 the G1 from T-Mobile, sporting the Google Android Platform, has been making waves within the realm of smart phones. There has been particular talk of its competition with the Apple iPhone.

The concept of the Google Android is to offer a hand-held, mobile computer with the browser capabilities and web content of a desktop computer. The platform of the Android also allows for contribution by present and future software developers.

The Google Android Platform is quickly expanding into phone handsets in Australia, the United Kingdom and China. There are anticipated releases for Androids across the globe. Everyone appears to be interested in the phone that allows some major personalization, especially when compared to others smart phones on the market that do not offer the Google Android Platform.

Most of what you find in Google on your home desktop computer, you can now find within an Android phone. Google maps, search and email are just the beginning of what is offered with the Google Androids. Even Google’s YouTube videos are accessible through the Android platform of phones. Instant messaging can be done and you can keep track of your personal or business calendar quite easily.

Navigating through the Google Android is done with ease through the use of the touch screen and trackball. The software also includes that of Amazon MP3 for music download and play. The Android user can quickly compare prices with the use of the barcode scanner.

Multi-media capability with simultaneous application run is something that can be done with ease through the Android’s Wi-Fi connection. In order to search business information there is the Goog 411 service included with the system.

Google service is the basis for the Android platform for mobile phones. Applications can easily be created and downloaded to the Android system, and developers have an opportunity to access source codes.

Conclusively, as applications get added and kinks are worked out of the new platform, any phone carrying the Google Android will increasingly become the most sought after smart phones on the market.

Apple, Inc iPhone smart phone hit the scene in 2007 with mixed reviews. The advantages of the iPhone upon introduction to the public included the third-party applications; Wi-Fi convenience; ability to be used as an iPod; touch screen user interface; and its visual appeal.

Since its introduction in 2007, there are some disadvantages to the Apple, Inc iPhone that have come to light. The disadvantages of the iPhone include the lack of speed for today’s needs, which includes the inability to access the faster phone networks; a small storage of 4 gigs of storage or up to 8 gigs; a 2-year contract with a data plan and there is no way to easily unlock it; the battery is not removable; and you pay the price of a desk top computer for it.

A competitive rival for the Apple, Inc iPhone is the Google cell phone. It was initially released exclusively in the T-Mobile network using Android, which is Google’s new mobile operating system. Android market applications are free. The advantages include a touch screen along with a QWERTY keyboard. The inclusion of real world pictures for navigation, music player, it is 3G compatible, includes a camera and Wi-Fi capabilities. The price of the Gphone is also along the lines of today’s advanced cellular phones. The Gphone also allows you to scan a product bar-code and then compare prices, and you can cut and paste. The Gphone does have a major advantage over the iPhone, with a removable battery.

Current reported disadvantages of the Google cell phone include no flash for the camera, capability for only one Gmail account, only YouTube video capability, email attachments cannot be edited or saved, there is no headphone jack, and with it being technology still being developed, you are limited to Google products and waiting for updates. The Apple, Inc iPhone has an advantage over the Google phone with the Microsoft exchange synchronizing abilities.

In doing a comparison, there are some toss ups as to which technology is more user friendly. The newest smart phone in the form of Google Android admittedly has improvements forthcoming, but play the Apple, Inc iPhone versus the T-Mobile Google Android and each has its advantages and disadvantages dependent upon an individual’s wants and needs.

But still not to forget the Blackberry Mobile Phones.
