Less Expensive Handsets May Carry Google Cell Phone

Posted by  in April 2nd 2009

With the downturn in the economy not looking to improve anytime soon, Google is looking to expand its market of smart phones by utilizing less expensive handsets.

The Google Android system has been marketed in the T-Mobile G1, and is said to be possibly taken into the Vodafone, Sciphone, and HTC in the very near future. The Android is gaining popularity across the globe, and Google can only improve their system from here.

The brand handset mobile phones of Sony Ericsson and HTC are in the works of adding Android phone models to their lines. The high-end models are said to be released first, but then plan to broaden the market by releasing some cheaper Android versions as well. This will offer an arena of Android users that otherwise would not purchase the high end versions of the Google platform.

HTC is said to be planning release of one or more Google Androids by the summer of 2009. Sony Ericsson is trying simply to stay competitive within the mobile phone industry and a platform like the Android is something that they feel is necessary to offer the public. They too plan to start at the high end of the models they release and also work toward offering the Android in a form to reach a broader market. A summer, 2009 target is in the works for Sony Ericsson as well.

Newest Google Android Anticipated

Posted by  in March 26th 2009

Since the release of the Google Android G1 by T-Mobile there has been much anticipation on which model phones Google will show up on next. There has been word of Google Android platform releases on phones in Australia with the Kogan Agora and Agora plus, as well as the Chinese version of the Sciphone Dream 2. These particular versions have had a few problems keeping up with the advanced technology of the Google Android platform. However, so far it appears that there will be a release of a Google Android sometime in April.

If you check out the Vodafone website, you will find that the HTC Magic is planning its launch in April, 2009. It debuted in February in the United Kingdom and plans release across Europe and the United States by the end of April.

The HTC Magic brags of a 3.2 inch touch screen; auto focus with its 3.2 megapixel camera, and innovative mobile internet technology that can only come from the experts of Google. These are just a few of the features in addition to GPS navigation, Bluetooth and triband capabilities.

Anyone familiar with the Google browser and online applications will find navigating the HTC Magic quite easy. The convenience of these web features in mobile, palm of your hand phone is a definite plus.

The technology of this Google Android version allows you to capture life not only with the camera feature, but that of the video feature as well. You now have the capacity for emailing videos immediately to your friends. If you really think your video worthy, you can also post it to YouTube if you like, as this is a Google supported option right from your phone.

The Google Android platform within the HTC Magic includes the Google multi-media capabilities of emailing, search and maps, not to mention the convenient barcode scanner. There are also many other applications and games that you can download in order to truly get the most out of your HTC Magic phone.

Dream G2 Google Android

Posted by  in March 22nd 2009

It appears that Australia’s Kogan is not the only one to recently announce the upcoming release of their version Android phone. China has placed itself in the Android phone mix with its Sciphone Dream G2. The Sciphone Android version offers a 2.8 inch QVGA touch screen and Wi-Fi. The camera is rated at 4 megapixels and the Dream G2 includes an FM tuner as well. The phone runs on the Android Home edition V1.0.

Despite all that the Chinese version of the Android phone offers, the Sciphone Dream G2 is really missing too much to be competitive with the earlier Android releases. Some items of importance for being competitive on today’s Android phone market include 3G and GPS. The main feature that it baffles as to the reasoning of its absence is the QWERTY keyboard. One must question how the creatures planned for the users to input text on this phone.

The Sciphone Dream G2 certainly will have a lower price tag than the Agora, which is another newer Android version being released, but the lack of features comparatively will substantiate the lower price. If you are looking for true, full-featured Android OS, then stay away from the Dream G2 by Sciphone. It is more of a nightmare along these lines. However, if you want just a taste of what an Android OS is like, then the price is right for the Dream G2 to get you started.
