Boasted as being the biggest competition for the Apple iPhone, Google’s G1 through T-Mobile made big news in the mobile phone market with its release in October of 2008. The excitement of the Google Android system within the T-Mobile G1 was all due to what Google was bringing to the world of the mobile phone. With Google’s web browser and search expertise, they brought a new direction to the internet and mobile phones simultaneously with their ultimate hand-held mobile computer in the form of the initial T-Mobile G1 gPhone.

There has been little disappointment following the hype of the release of the Google Android. The main complaint was the download speed, which is certainly that can be worked on a rectified in the near future. In reference to the first phone offering the Android platform, neither Google, nor the users of the G1 have many complaints overall.

Since the release of the G1, it has not taken long for word of the Google Android platform to get out. Just months after the release of the gPhone, other mobile phone service and product carriers began researching how they could get on board with this newest, hot technology from Google.

With all that it offers, it is not wonder that companies across the globe are chomping at the bit to get on board with use of Google Android. Google has already begun adding applications to the Android platform in addition to the original applications that include much of what you can find on your home desktop computer in the line of Google search, email, maps and more.

Not only are the popular name features of search, maps and email availability appealing to the consumer, but the ease of navigation of the system is a draw as well. Users of the Google Android can utilize a QWERTY keyboard, touch screen, and track ball to navigate through the wealth of options offered within the Android platform.

Companies in China, Australia and the United Kingdom are talking of release of or soon to be released phones opting for the applications of the Google Android platform. For example, the Sciphone Dream G2 Android is a phone being released in China. However, many manufactures are finding that the technology of the Google Android platform needs to be run on very high quality hardware. Some phone carriers have had to delay the release of their Google phone versions due to their lack of being able to appropriately offer up the full concept of an Android.

In any event, it is reported that by 2012 the Google Android will be far more popular and out sell the Apple iPhone. Google has provided much with their Android platform as well and continue to constantly improve upon it. With Google’s expertise along the lines of internet technology, the Android platform is sure to continue to be a hot item for phone manufacturers, mobile service carriers and consumers. With this in mind, anyone who will want to even begin to compete within the smart phone arena really has their work cut out for them.
